Dr Shyamal Raichura is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist with specialist expertise in skin cancer management, advanced dermatological surgery and medical dermatology. He is highly experienced in complex surgical closures and Mohs micrographic surgery, delivering precise, patient-centred care with excellent clinical outcomes.
Dr Raichura is known for his calm, professional manner and has received consistently positive feedback from both patients and colleagues.
He graduated with honours in Medicine (MB ChB Hons) from the University of Bristol and holds a BSc in Neuroscience from Queen’s University Belfast, where he achieved distinction in clinical education. He has completed the Specialty Certificate in Dermatology and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians. He is also an active member of several professional organisations, including the British Society of Dermatological Surgery and the International Dermoscopy Society.
Dr Raichura currently practices as a Consultant Dermatologist at Cathedral Dermatology, in addition to his roles at The London Skin & Hair Clinic and West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. His previous roles include senior dermatology and surgical positions at leading UK centres such as Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and Solihull Hospital, alongside extensive experience across multiple NHS trusts.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Raichura has contributed to dermatology research, publications, and national and international conferences, with a focus on skin cancer and treatment innovation. He has led quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, streamline care pathways, and improve surgical outcomes.
He has also demonstrated strong leadership throughout his career, including roles in trainee representation, education, and service development. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he volunteered at the Nightingale Hospital, reflecting his commitment to patient care and teamwork in challenging environments.
